This page holds a short biography, a list of previously produced professional work and the most current iteration of my resume.
This is the most recent version of my Resume (.DOC format file).
Marc-Alexandre Vézina crash-landed on Earth in 1971. He narrowly avoided a boring but lucrative engineering career when friends suggested that he become a starving writer instead. Since then, his bizarre, secluded lifestyle has led him to explore the most perverse aspects of human civilization, including hard work, relationships and gaming conventions. He hopes to redeem himself by one day writing a novel of some sort.
He served for nearly fifteen issues as the Ogre-in-Chief for Mecha Press, a Montréal-based magazine that catered to his fetish for science fiction and giant robots. Marc-Alex's deranged ramblings have also been the basis for numerous gaming books including Jovian Chronicles, Heavy Gear, parts of Macross II: Spaceships and Deckplans, and numerous other titles. He served as chief developer and editor for Dream Pod 9’s Silhouette game engine for ten years, before moving on to the electronic gaming industry. He spent five years there, first at mobile developer Airborne-E, then at electronic game publisher Electronic Arts Mobile (formerly JAMDAT).
Marc-Alex currently works as Producer for Artifex Animation Studios, a firm specialized in cutting edge 3D animation and special effects. He is still freelancing and very active on the Internet. He is married to Caroline Cyr and lives in Montreal, QC.
