This page holds various items that cannot be classed in any other categories, such as experimental games, short essays, some pictures, etc. Basically, it's random cool stuff. It might be new material, adventures, game resources, or just things that I do or find neat.
These are low-resolution pictures of some of my sketch books. I use the latter to work out ideas and designs prior to publication: it's easier to keep everything in one place than to have to file lots of separate sheets. Plus, the cardboard backing of the books allows me to work anywhere, not just at my desk.
I've put some pictures of my gaming miniatures online. Many of the pictures are from works in progress, though I also have a few finished (or near finished pieces). Most are for the Warhammer 40K miniature game, though eventually I'll post images of miniatures I made (and sold) for other game systems. By the way, inactive links are projects for which I put notes together, but not plastic or metal.
Hive Fleet Valken (Tyranids) | Advanced Tau Hunter Cadre | Ancient Necron Legion
Non-Gothic Space Marines | Assorted Miniatures
I used to build science-fiction model kits by the boxful. I actually had to put some in storage just to clear some space on my shelves! But with age came responsabilities and less time, and so my modeling output has dwindled to almost nothing. In a few years, though, when we buy a house and I can have a proper workshop, I'll put in new shelves and get them all out of their boxes. In the meantime, you can at least check out some pictures.
Gaplant Mobile Suit (Gundam Zeta) | Watchdog AT (Armored Trooper VOTOMS)
The Reviews contains short essays on books, movies and other items that I've read, seen or used. Eventually, I want to add a "Things" category, and perhaps even break down the reviews further into sub-pages (though we're going to need more before it gets to that point).
I've been surfing the Web since the days of Mosaic. The Links page holds a few of the addresses I've visited during my travels.
Space Gear (including Science-Fiction) | Military Technology | Robotics | Genetic Engineering | Maps & Mapmaking
Sea Mining | Ship Names & Naming Conventions | Ships and Marine Structures | Politics & Society
Being an avid snowboarder myself, it is only natural that I devote a page to Snowboarding. This page includes a few pictures of past snowboarding trips.
Mecha Press was an anime/gaming magazine dedicated to high-tech science-fiction. I worked as a writer for the first three issues and became Chief Editor afterward. We managed to get seventeen issues out, but by then it had become evident that we'd be better served putting our time and energy into our game books. The magazine thus closed its doors, though some sections remain alive in Protoculture Addicts magazine.
I've put a summary of the seventeen issues online (TXT file), both as trivia and in case someone wants to try and track them down. Sorry, I don't have any for sales, though I hear they are available as PDF-based E-books (check with DP9).
There's nothing more for now, but let me know if there's something you'd like to see. Heck, ask for your favorite, you never know.
