Yet Another sketch

MS Test 3This is another drawing, cleaned up in a graphic program, from the sketchbook.

I’m using just bare silhouettes right now to try and gauge the visual balance of the things. I don’t want opinions to be cluttered by details that may change later on. I’m more concerned, for example, whether I’m making them needlessly humanoid at this point.

As you can figure out by now, all three designs I’ve shown so far have engines on the shoulders. There’s a reason for that, and it’s based on what I had promised a blog entry about, which is center of gravity and thrust lines. I’ll get around to it, I just have to do a few funny sketches to get my point across.

This will work IMO for a multi-purpose exploration vehicle or combat vehicle. As for a spaceship, I think I would opte for an aquatic creature deseign.

Even Macross was quit extreme as they work very hard to give an explaination for the SDF-1 humanoid shape…

However, your desiegn look good… keep up the good work.

Good, because it’s exactly what it is. Depending on what you hang on the hard points (tanks, drones, sensors, etc.), you can vary its abilities.

If I’m not careful with rules selection, this is going to be a pain to stat up, BTW. :)

Not sure what you mean here. This isn’t a ship — I’ve got separate designs for that. Imagine a giant Soyuz or CEV, with a single thermonuclear engine at the end of a tail boom.

I dont know if I like that idea. I liked the designs they did for Red Planet with Val Kilmer. I would need to see a pick of your idea. I mean if you have mecha and then something like the CEV in design I just cant see those two technologies in the same series. Its hard to visualize for me atm.
